DESCRIPTION:  \nChurch Service will begin at 10am (the service music will be set in Steele’s time.\nThe Parade will commence from the church around 11:30am\nThe Legion will be open at 8am.  Transportation will be available between the Legion and the Church for those who cannot march. \n \nA reception will take place at the Legion after the parade \nCash bar will be open and the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary will provide sandwiches\, coffee/tea. \nWe look forward to seeing everyone there. \nSir Samuel Benfield Steele A man of enormous physical strength and endurance\, Steele managed to be where the action was hottest (courtesy  Library and Archives Canada/PA-28146).(courtesy Library and Archives Canada/PA-28146) \n  \nSir Samuel Benfield Steele\, CB\, KCMG\, mounted policeman\, soldier (born 5 January 1848 in Medonte\, Canada West; died 30 January 1919 in London\, England). As a member of the North-West Mounted Police\, Steele was an important participant in the signing of Treaty 6 and Treaty 7\, the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway\, the North-West Rebellion and the Klondike gold rush. His military career began as a private in the Red River Expedition\, included service in the South African War as an officer commanding Lord Strathcona’s Horse and as a major general during the First World War. \nHe attended school in Orillia\, Canada West.
